Whether you are an experienced artist or someone who has never drawn before Dr. Sketchy’s welcomes everyone to participate in the joy of mixing art with cabaret. The concept is simple; people can draw glamorous burlesque dancers, colourful cabaret performers, and compete in contests to win prizes. Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School is the little New York art event that became a worldwide phenomenon. From it's humble Brooklyn beginnings (started in 2005 by artist, Molly Crabapple) Dr. Sketchy's now boasts over 100 branches around the globe including Los Angeles, London, Tokyo, Paris and Melbourne.
Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School Norwich is produced by locally based burlesque performer, Natalya Umanska. Since it’s debut in 2013 the branch has gone on to host a series of successful monthly events at The Unthank Arms. Other highlights include Norwich Body Art Festival, Norwich Fringe Festival and the first burlesque show on the Norfolk Broads. The branch brings you some of the finest burlesque and cabaret performers from the UK. Chrys Columbine, Millie Dollar and Beatrix Von Bourbon have all posed and pouted to be immortalised in crayon and pencil by local artists.
